So you know what colour chair you want, you kind of know what you want it to look like and you know what size you want it to be as it has to fit in that corner just perfectly.
You log on to the internet, you trawl around the shops in town and it’s then that you realise – this decision to buy recliner chairs has one extra choice to consider that you hadn’t even thought about – what style of base do you get?!
Basically there are two types of bases – a circular base and a five-foot base. The circular base is quite clever as often it will hide the swivel ring inside the very bottom of the chair, meaning that the base and the chair appears to swivel as a whole. An example of this is the Sorento recliner.
Your other option – the five foot base swivels from the top of the base – pretty much from where the base connects to the chair. In this case the base would stay still and it would be just the chair that swivels. Quite a few of our chairs have this style, for example the Rimini, the Hong Kong, the Capri and the Las Vegas recliner.
Of course if you didn’t want swivel leather recliner chairs you could always consider a static recliner. But that’s a whole other story that I will save for another day!
